  • Do you have an outlet store?

    No, Acorn Manufacturing is a factory producing the product.

  • How can I receive a catalog of your products?

    A catalog may be ordered by calling 1-800-835-0121 or sending us an e-mail at acorninfo@acornmfg.com. You may also view our products on line at: www.acornmfg.com.

  • Do you sell retail?

    We generally attempt to direct the public to the nearest hardware store or lumberyard. If there are no local dealers, we will sell direct at full retail cost but we have dealers throughout most of the United States. Call for the locations nearest you.

  • Do you discount to the trade?

    No, we do not sell to the trade, but we have many stores throughout the states that will discount to the trade. Call the office for a location near you.

  • Would I receive a discount on your products?

    Any dealer may call the factory at 1-800-835-0121 for a discount quote.

  • Are you affiliated with buying groups?

    Yes, we are affiliated with Ace Hardware, Do-It-Best, IBSA, LMC, Philadelphia Reserve, and Tru-Serv.

  • What are your terms?

    Our billing terms are, 1% 10 days Net 30 days for any open accounts.

  • How can I order your products?

    Orders may be placed by telephone, fax, or mail. Dealers and distributors may fill out a credit application to open an account or orders may be paid with a credit card (MasterCard, Visa or Discover), shipped C.O.D. or prepay with check.

  • Do you have a minimum order?

    Our business accounts are required to meet an $100.00 net minimum unless they are in need of samples or replacement parts. Orders placed under an $100.00 net are subject to a $10.00 net handling charge.

  • Do I have to purchase whole box quantities?

    No, any quantity may be ordered at no additional charge.

  • What is your lead time?

    Orders for Acorn black iron generally ship within 5 business days. Orders with russet finish usually ship with in 10-14 business days. Iron Art, Stainless Steel and special finishes could take up to 8-10 weeks.

  • May I check on my order?

    Yes, you may call the factory during business hours and customer service will be glad assist you.

  • What is the cost for shipping my order?

    Shipping costs vary dependent upon the weight of the products and the destination zip code. A shipping quote can be provided prior to shipping upon request.

  • How do I qualify for prepaid freight?

    Prepaid freight applies to orders over $2000.00 net east of the Mississippi and orders over $2500.00 net west of the Mississippi.

  • May I return products directly to the factory?

    Any returns must be returned to the place of purchase. If you purchased directly from the factory you must receive pre-authorization from Acorn. Returns may be subject to a 20% restocking charge. Product Information

  • What is forged iron?

    Our products are made from Forged Iron, which is a low carbon steel, and cast iron, which is poured steel rolled out.

  • Do you do custom work?

    Generally no, but we do modify if possible any of our hardware at an up-charge and with an extended lead time. Call the office for quote.

  • Do screws come with your products?

    Yes, all mounting hardware is included with all of our hardware.

  • May I buy replacement parts for units or do I need to buy a new unit?

    Acorn can provide most replacement parts or screws as needed.

  • My doors are pre-drilled. Do you have hardware I can use?

    Yes, we have several styles for both interior and exterior doors suitable for pre-drilled doors. Our catalog does indicate which sets are suitable for pre-drilled doors.

  • My doors are over the standard 1-3/4” thickness. Will your mortise locksets work?

    Entrance sets can be modified to use on doors up to 2-3/4” with the mortise lock box centered in the door. Thicker doors must have the lock offset toward the front of the door. There is additional cost and lead time for extending all mortise entrance sets, please call the office for a quote.

  • On your rim latch door sets, what it the difference between passage and reverse bevel?

    Passage means in-swing. The product is used on a door that would swing into a room. It does come with a locking button for privacy function. Reverse bevel means out swing for doors that swing towards you, such as closet doors or storm doors. Combo sets consists of handle, thumb-piece, both strikes and latch bars for either in or out swing. This combo is helpful if you do not know the swing of the doors. Finish Information

  • Is your black finish shiny?

    No, our black finish is matte black.

  • Are special finishes i.e. plated finishes warranted for outside use?

    No. The only finishes that are warranted for outside use are black & russet.

  • What is a special or plated finish?

    All of our plated finishes are considered special finishes. i.e. brass, copper, bronze, nickel and pewter, there is an up charge on all special finishes. Retail costs are listed in the second column of price list. The lead time is 8-10 weeks. If no cost is listed in the second column of our price list that product is not available in a special finish.

  • Is there a warranty on your natural finish?

    No. Natural finished products will most likely rust in an outside or moist environment.

  • Is there an up-charge for plated finish?

    Yes, plated finishes are priced at 75% over black for Acorn door and bath accessories and 100% above the Black on all other hardware. The up-charge is based on the retail price. See the second column of the price list for special finish prices. If there is no special finish price than that product is not available in a special finish. Note: Russet (which is a painted finish) is 10% above the Black finish price.

  • Is your stainless steel line available in any other finish?

    No, our stainless steel line is available only as a solid forged stainless steel product. All stainless steel products are listed in the price list with the beginning letter of K and the fourth letter finish code of J which represents natural stainless steel finish. i.e. KP1JP.

  • What is the lead time for special finish items?

    Lead time for russet, is usually 1-2 weeks, lead time for all other plated finishes is generally 10-12 weeks.

  • Is everything available in special finish?

    There are a few products that are not available in special finish. You may check with the factory for those items or view the 2nd column of your price list. If no special finish cost is listed, that product may not be plated or painted.
